Mojácar, May 17, 2025 — The sound of festive marches will echo through Mojácar this Saturday as the town hosts the final concert of the 3rd National ‘Al-Mosaquer’ Moors and Christians Marches Composition Competition, an event that officially opens the cultural curtain on this year’s much-anticipated Moors and Christians festivities.
Taking place at 7 p.m. in Mojácar’s Multi-Uses Centre, the concert not only showcases original musical talent but also reaffirms the town’s deep-rooted commitment to tradition, culture, and music as key drivers of local identity and tourism.
This year’s edition is dedicated to the Moorish march style. The Mojácar Municipal Music Band, under the baton of Miguel Ángel Miranda Sevillano, will perform the four finalist pieces: “Amazic,” “Arrabal,” “Cimitarra,” and “Sabil.” These works, selected by a jury of professional musicians and local representatives, were praised for their creativity, emotional resonance, and celebration of Moorish heritage.
