TORREVIEJA — Torrevieja will celebrate a new edition of its traditional May Fair (Feria de Mayo) from Thursday, May 7 to Sunday, May 10, transforming the city into a showcase of Andalusian culture, music, dance, and gastronomy. The event remains one of the most anticipated highlights of the local festive calendar and one of the largest gatherings in Alicante province.
Held at Antonio Soria Park, the four-day fair brings together thousands of visitors each spring and has been officially recognized as a Festival of Provincial Tourist Interest, reflecting its cultural significance and strong public appeal across the Costa Blanca.
This year’s event will feature 13 participating groups operating 15 “casetas” (fair tents), creating a vibrant social and cultural space. The municipal tent will once again support the charitable initiative Alimentos Solidarios, with its own dedicated program published via the City Council’s social media channels.
A “Punto Violeta” (Purple Point) will also be available on-site, offering information and support to promote safe, inclusive, and violence-free festivities.
Strong Local and Musical Line-Up
The program highlights the city’s dance scene, with performances from leading local academies including Mery Dance Academy, the Municipal Dance School of Torrevieja, Soul Dance, Paya’s Dance School, QK Dance Academy, and Ángela Esteban Dance School.
In addition, two major musical acts will headline the weekend:
- Friday: La Cuarta Cuerda, a rising flamenco-pop and rumba group with a strong youth following.
- Saturday: Raya Evolution, featuring members of the iconic Raya Real, known for decades of influence in Andalusian festive music.
Traditional elements such as the rociera mass, horse and carriage parade, and Copla singing competition final will round out the program.
The official opening ceremony will include the Torrevieja anthem performed by the UMT band, followed by a fireworks display. During the ceremony, the City Council will also pay tribute to Spain’s State Security Forces for their service, particularly in ensuring safety at large public events.
