Pablo Samper, candidate for mayor of Sueña Torrevieja says that “the cafeterias of the Third Age in the centre of Torrevieja are still closed after four years of PP government, so the mayor has breached his electoral contract with the group of elderly, and adds another unfulfilled promise to the already infinite list during this term”.

In addition, Samper affirms, that “the mayor assured in February 2023 publicly that they had already awarded these services, when the supposedly winning company of the service was still pending to provide the economic offer to the City Council before March 31, a period that has already been exceeded in almost a month and of which we have no more news about it”.

The real reality is that “after 4 years they have not awarded the cafeteria services of the houses of the third age of the centre of Torrevieja of which, in the previous mandate, they encouraged its users to demonstrate against the previous government, so the management of the Partido Popular with the bars-cafeterias of the Houses of the Third Age is another unfulfilled promise of Eduardo Dolón,  taking into account also that the Mayor promised in his campaign that he would open the cafeterias immediately. ”

Sueña Torrevieja will raise tomorrow Thursday in the ordinary plenary session a question about the situation of the cafeterias, in addition to requesting information on technical aspects in relation to whether there have been works to soundproof the walls of the premises or if they have the mandatory acoustic legality report, something that could prevent their opening or the provision of services complying with the law.

Samper concludes by stating that “it is incredible how the mayor re-signs an electoral contract with the group of the Third Age after having deceived them for 4 years by not being able to open the cafeterias, and add another unfulfilled promise to the already infinite list of breaches during these four years of government”.
