The Inbetweeners Golf Society visited the scenic Vistabella Golf Course this week, and it proved a fine choice. Rolling fairways and wide, sweeping vistas make the course a joy to play, though its many cleverly placed bunkers keep every hole entertaining. This visit brought an extra wrinkle: the greens had been hollow-tinned earlier in the week. For those who read the greens quickly found the pace to their liking—while others took a few holes to adjust their touch.

The morning began under an overcast sky with a cool breeze that felt like a gift amid the recent heatwave. That chill had many members hoping it would last, and it lent a crispness to tee shots and putts alike. By afternoon, the sun broke through, warming the course, and talk of cold drinks at the 19th hole grew louder as the final holes approached.

Play was friendly but competitive. Small talk between shots, gentle ribbing over missed putts, and cheers for particularly good finds at the fairway all added to the day’s atmosphere. As always, the course was challenging, but that didn’t stop some impressive scores from coming into the clubhouse, especially if your name began with an M.
