The Sueña Torrevieja group has this week reported that repairs to a walkway in La Mata are so much beyond the initial budget, the town hall is short of millions to complete the work.

In the settlement of the 2022 budget is the remaining treasury of 1.48 million and assuming that this remaining credit has been incorporated into the 2023 budget, a total of 3 million euro would be missing to finance the work, they say.

In these circumstances, the work cannot be awarded until it has the more than 3 million that it lacks at the moment.

Pablo Samper, candidate for mayor of Sueña Torrevieja says that “in the contracting platform is the tender for the construction of the pedestrian path of La Mata, through advance processing of the expense, for an execution amount of 3,608,459.49 euro, which means a tender price of 4,366,236 euro, after including 21% of IVA”.

Samper adds that “there is also the tender for the construction management of the aforementioned pedestrian path of La Mata, through advance processing of the expense, for a material execution amount of 123,966.94 euro, which represents an execution price of 150,000 euro, after including 21% IVA”.

Therefore, the budgetary requirements of this work amount to 4,516,236 euro.

In the settlement of the 2022 budget is the remaining treasury of 1.48 million and assuming that this remaining credit has been incorporated into the 2023 budget, Samper says that “a total of 3,035,857 euro would be missing to finance the work”.

Samper concludes by stating that “in these circumstances the work cannot be awarded until it has the more than 3 million that it lacks at the moment. Again, the lack of foresight of the PP government is revealed after 4 years of unfulfilled promises of Eduardo Dolón, and the walkway of the La Mata is still not fixed and in a sorry state”.
