The regional secretary for Security and Emergencies, José María Ángel, has presented a total of 145 decorations, diplomas and distinctions to officers from various local police forces in the province of Alicante in recognition of the work and merits of these professionals of public safety during their police work.

Specifically, in the act which took place in Elche, 17 crosses with a Blue Badge, 93 with a White Badge, 32 individual public congratulations and 3 retirement diplomas have been delivered.

José María Ángel presided over the event together with the Director General of the Interior, Salvador Almenar, and the Mayor of Elche, Carlos González. During his speech, Ángel wanted to value the “commendable work and contribution to the safety of citizens of this body of public officials who carry out their work every day with a commitment to serve society as a guide.”

In addition, he recognised that “thanks to the dedication and level of training of the different local police forces, society can continue advancing towards the consolidation of a city model that integrates such important aspects as public safety and citizen coexistence”.

On the other hand, Ángel added that it is essential that the effort and commitment of local police officers translate into achieving a “cross-cutting objective for all municipalities: to create cities that integrate values, that educate for coexistence and that are diverse and welcoming”.
