The Alcachofa de la Vega Baja del Segura artichoke brand has participated for the first time in the Salón Gourmets, the food and beverage fair dedicated to quality products or number one delicatessen in Europe.

La Joya de la Huerta has been present at this important event through a show cooking that has been carried out by the chef of the Los Infantes de Almoradí restaurant, José Francisco Gómez, in the gastronomic space of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Gómez has prepared a ‘Vega Baja artichoke cannelloni, foie and nougat’ and has offered more than a hundred tastings to visitors to this event at the Madrid Trade Fair Institution (IFEMA).

The artichoke brand, thanks to the Alicante Provincial Council, has represented the Vega Baja del Segura region within the programming offered by the Ministry of Agriculture at the Spanish Food stand with the aim of traveling around the country to through the flavours and verify that we are The Richest Country in the World.

The president of the Artichoke Association of Vega Baja del Segura, Asociación Alcachofa de la Vega Baja del Segura, Antonio Ángel Hurtado, has pointed out that “this fair is the most important one dedicated to quality products and for us it is an honour and a pride to be part of such a distinguished event”.

“It is an important year for the artichoke from Vega Baja. At the beginning of the year we went to the Madrid Fusión fair, later we collected the award for the best agri-food product in the Valencian Community from the Valencian Academy of Gastronomy and now we have returned to the capital to participate in another great event, which means that La Joya de la Huerta is at the forefront of the gastronomy sector”.

For Antonio Ángel Hurtado “the Vega Baja artichoke brand is advancing in terms of promotion and distinction as a high-quality product in the national market and with the presence in the Salón Gourmets we have taken another step in terms of dissemination of the Jewel of the Garden”.

For his part, the chef of the Los Infantes restaurant has pointed out that this artichoke cannelloni is a dish that was presented at the Almoradí gastronomic days through which he wants to value local and quality products.
