Eight students from the San Vicente de Paúl School in Cartagena and Infanta Elena Secondary School in Jumilla have qualified for the national final of the VII Cyber League (Ciberliga), a cybersecurity competition organised by the Guardia Civil.
The Region of Murcia saw strong participation this year, with 63 secondary schools taking part. Following an online qualifying phase held in March, students received practical training in digital safety, attended awareness sessions, and tackled cybersecurity challenges based on real-life scenarios.
Participants learned key skills such as identifying fake online profiles, analysing manipulated images, and gathering digital evidence using open-source tools.
The eight finalists—four from each school—were formally recognised at the Regional Ministry of Education headquarters for their achievement.
They will now compete against top teams from across Spain and Melilla in the final stage, to be held this month at the Guardia Civil Officers Academy and University Centre in Aranjuez (Madrid), with support from national cybersecurity experts.
