Redován, 8 July 2025 – The Redován Town Hall has donated a total of 500 t-shirts to the Alicante Association for the Fight Against Cancer, based in Redován. These t-shirts will be distributed to participants in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, which will take place this year on Sunday, 19 October.
This event is held each year in support of World Breast Cancer Day and sees hundreds of residents taking to the streets dressed in pink to show solidarity and raise awareness.
Registrations for the walk will open on Tuesday, 15 July. Those wishing to take part can sign up either at the headquarters of the association or at Redován Town Hall. The €5 donation includes a race bib, a bottle of water, and one of the commemorative t-shirts donated by the local council.
Councillor for Social Welfare, Marisol Ibáñez, encouraged local residents to participate in the walk, emphasizing that it continues to grow in popularity each year and represents a powerful show of support for an important cause. Mayor Nely Ruiz also expressed her appreciation for the work carried out by the Alicante Association for the Fight Against Cancer in the municipality.
Representatives from the association visited the Town Hall earlier this week to collect the donated t-shirts in preparation for the event.
