For months, we’ve been wasting valuable time going in circles over the best location for the new desalination plant in the Vega Baja region—or whether the existing facility should simply be expanded. At PIOC, we want to make our position absolutely clear and unequivocal.
We fully support the construction of a new desalination plant on the coast of Vega Baja rather than expanding the current one. It is the more logical and versatile solution.
Moreover, we firmly back the use of land in Orihuela Costa for this project, provided it is not protected land and that the benefits of the plant are directly returned to the local community of Orihuela Costa.
PIOC is the political party that truly represents the will of the people of Orihuela Costa, and as such, we stand for the future. We refuse to remain stuck in the 19th century, like the Orihuela City Council, which continues to govern us from a distance—both physically and politically.
We believe our residents deserve the infrastructure that secures our future. We work in the interest of the broader community, advocating for sustainable agriculture and planned, responsible growth—growth with the services we already pay for but too often do not receive.
Orihuela Costa is too large and too distinct to be managed inefficiently by a city located 35 kilometers away, run by politicians who neither understand nor care about our unique identity.
PIOC stands for seriousness, strategic planning, and integrity.
PIOC is the future of the new Orihuela Costa.
