The Torrevieja and Region Hospitality Business Association (AEHTC) is pleased to announce the composition of the jury for the “Croquetas al Gusto” contest, which will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, at the CdT facilities in Torrevieja.
This contest is exclusively for AEHTC member establishments, where they will present an original, traditional, or innovative croquette, made by hand. These croquettes will then be part of the public gastronomic event: the V Edition of “Croqueteando por Torrevieja,” which will run from May 12 to 18, 2025, in the participating establishments.
The jury, responsible for evaluating the croquettes based on taste, presentation, and originality, will be made up of renowned figures from the gastronomic sector:
- President of the Jury: Rosario Martínez Chazarra, Councillor for Hospitality and Tourism of the Torrevieja City Council
- Secretary of the Jury: Alicia Arenas Mercader, Director of the CdT of Torrevieja
- Official Sponsor Representative (Roldan Netya): César Culiañez Amorós, Sales Manager for the province of Alicante
Invited Members:
• María del Mar Valera, President of APEHA (Provincial Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of Alicante)
• José Manuel Marcos Candela, renowned master pastry chef and head of the prestigious “Pastelería Crujiente” in Redován (Alicante). He has received numerous national and international awards and distinctions, and has been part of the Spanish Pastry Team, representing Spain in prestigious international competitions such as the Pastry World Cup.
During the “Croqueteando por Torrevieja” week (May 12–18), the public will be able to try all the participating croquettes directly in the establishments and also take part in raffles through social media and other channels. Among the prizes, 10 product lots will be raffled, courtesy of the event’s official sponsor, Roldan Netya.
This initiative aims to promote the excellence, creativity, and commitment of the local hospitality sector while offering a delicious and engaging experience for both residents and visitors.
