The Guardia Civil in the Murcia region has carried out an investigation into a violent robbery attempt at a bakery in Águilas. The operation has resulted in the arrest of two minors, who are suspected of attempted robbery with violence and intimidation.
The investigation began when authorities learned of an armed robbery attempt at a bakery in a central street in Águilas.
The incident took place at midday, when a hooded and masked individual entered the shop, threatened the employee with a gun, and jumped over the counter in an attempt to steal the cash. However, the shop assistant resisted and managed to force him out, preventing the robbery.
Collaboration with Águilas Local Police
The Guardia Civil, in collaboration with the Águilas Local Police, gathered evidence, witness statements, and information confirming that two individuals were involved. One suspect remained outside as a lookout, while the other carried out the violent attempted robbery.
Security camera footage captured the masked assailant wielding a fake gun, threatening the employee, who stood her ground and ultimately drove him out of the shop.
After several weeks of investigation, Operation ‘Polainas’ led to the identification, location, and arrest of the two minors, who now face charges for attempted robbery with violence and intimidation.
