On the occasion of the commemoration of Autism Day, Orihuela has organised a conference to by a psychiatrist from the Institute of Psychiatry and Mental Health of the General University Hospital Gregorio Marañón, Dr. Abigail Huertas, entitled “Current situation, challenges and opportunities in the diagnosis and approach of autism in the public health”.

This conference will take place next Friday 5th April in the Auditorium of “La Lonja” at 18.00h with free entrance until full capacity is reached.

The councillor for Social Welfare explained that this conference “is aimed at professionals in social and health intervention, family members of people with ASD and students of related degrees”.

She said that it is “a great opportunity for us to know more about the diagnosis of autism through a recognised doctor in this health field and with a wide professional career”.

Dr. Abigail Huertas has a degree in Medicine and is a specialist in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry. She is also a lecturer and communicator on health. In addition to her extensive curriculum, she currently has a podcast entitled “Psiquiatras al aparato” and an Instagram account @abuhertas_psq, where she promotes the dissemination of autism.
