The PSPV-PSOE has requested the dismissal of the mayor of Orihuela, Pepe Vegara (PP), who will sit on the bench for an alleged continued crime of falsification of a commercial document and two alleged crimes against the Public Treasury related to IVA and corporate tax.

Last Friday, the councillor rejected a pact with the Prosecutor’s Office, which requests sentences of seven years in prison for him and three other defendants.

The socialist ombudsman in Les Corts Valencianes, José Muñoz, has considered that we are “facing an unsustainable situation in a municipality historically stained by the corruption of the PP.”

In this sense, he has asked the president of the Generalitat and leader of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón, to dismiss this mayor because it is not acceptable that this city, capital of Vega Baja, has at its head a person “who is going to sit on the bench for tax fraud and for which they ask for seven years in prison.”

Muñoz has accused the PP of giving many lessons to the other groups in Les Corts, but what it should do, in his opinion, is “give fewer lessons and make more decisions.”
