The Councilor for the Internal Regime of the Torrevieja Council, María José Ruiz, has announced that that during the past year, a total of 146,407 applications have been registered at the Town Hall, the largest number that has been recorded historically.

The departments that receive the most requests are Census and Statistics, Urban Planning, Social Welfare, Local Police, Openings and Activities, Personnel and Competitions, and Sports. They were followed by Treasury, Senior Citizens, Occupation of Public Roads and Promotion and Employment.

The Electronic Headquarters has processed a total of 21,377 requests from members of the public, a number that continues to grow, which is perhaps why the municipal Registry office is receiving fewer visits. María José Ruiz has said that the Council is currently working on new public service office that will allow people to learn how to carry out their own procedures with their own passwords/electronic certificates.

The Torrevieja council is also expanding these services, with a Registration point in the La Mata Town Hall and another in La Siesta, in order to bring municipal services closer to the general public.

The hours of the municipal registry offices for public attention are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and may be visited without an appointment.
