Officers from the National Police arrested a man in Elche who was carrying 9 kilos of marijuana hidden in the boot of his vehicle.

The officers discovered the stash during a vehicle inspection at one of the random check points that are carried out in different parts of the city.

In Elche, the National Police has intensified the implementation of static control points, these are carried out by agents belonging to the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) who are in charge of carrying out this type of control with crime prevention functions.

During the vehicle check, the officers carried out the appropriate identification checks on the occupant and later carried out a search of the interior of the vehicle, where they located a backpack in the boot and inside that a large bag containing 9 kilograms of marijuana.

The man was arrested for a crime against public health.
