Local Policia have imposed fines to swimmers who entered the sea at La Mata – despite the flying of a red flag.
Following rough conditions and the red flag no entry people continued to put their – and lifeguards – lives at risk as the sea became dangerous due to strong easterly winds.
Sadly there has been casualties in recent weeks where bathers have been caught out by dangerous riptides.
