Club Deportivo Torrevieja has reached an agreement with Joaquín López Martínez (Montpellier, 1971) better known as Kiko López, to become the new coach of the first team. López has strong ties with the neighbouring municipality of Los Montesinos as well as with our city, and he comes highly recommended by the Club’s sports director Juanjo Fernández.
As a UEFA PRO football coach, Kiko López posesses the highest coaching qualification available in the footballing world following an outstanding playing career, working with Real Madrid CF for 10 years and training top teams in countries such as China, Tunisia, Kuwait and the Under-17 and Under-19 teams for Bahrain.
Working alongside Kiko, the Club has appointed Francisco José Guillén Llamusi (Elche, 1976) “Paco Guillén”, who will work as assistant coach. His most recent success was ensuring the promotion of CD Almoradí into the 3º División in the 2015-2016 season.
Meanwhile, this coming Sunday, 28 October at 11.45h at Torrevieja’s Nelson Mandela Stadium, CD Torrevieja face Aspe UD in the ninth match of the season and with renewed hopes, the team are determined to win so they do not lose their place in the top half of the league table.
The Club would also like to remind everyone that the period in which you can acquire your 2018/19 season ticket is still open, and all you have to do is come to the head office located at Calle Caballero de Rodas, nº56.
Alternatively, you can purchase them online through the Club’s website at www.clubdeportivotorrevieja.com. Season tickets cannot be acquired from the stadium ticket office.
