CBMP Rayito Salinero delivered an outstanding performance last weekend at the Arena 1000 beach handball tournament in Sanxenxo, one of the premier events on the national circuit. The club traveled with both its men’s and women’s senior teams, leaving a strong impression and making their supporters proud.
The men’s senior team claimed a well-earned bronze medal after an intense tournament run. They started strong by defeating BM Playa Barbate in the round of 16, followed by a high-level victory over BM Playa Alcalá in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, they faced one of the tournament favorites, BM Playa Ciudad de Málaga, in a thrilling match that ended in a shoot-out. Although they narrowly missed out on a spot in the final, they recovered quickly to secure third place by beating BM Playa Lepe in the bronze medal match.
The women’s senior team also performed admirably, finishing second in their group to advance to the knockout rounds. They secured a convincing win over BM Playa Azuqueca in the round of 16 before facing BM Playa Alcalá in a demanding quarterfinal. Despite a strong effort, they fell short of reaching the semifinals, but the team showed steady progress and left a positive impression.
These results mark another important step in the season for CBMP Rayito Salinero, reaffirming their place among the top beach handball clubs in Spain. With hard work, ambition, and a passion for the sport, the club continues to proudly represent Torrevieja at the national level.
