Los Marineros 2-2 The Orange Bar

On Wednesday, January 15, Los Marineros kicked off their first walking football match of 2025, hosting a visiting team from The Orange Bar.

Following a pre-match briefing from the referee, the game got underway with the visitors taking control during the first quarter. A lack of discipline from the home side led to a series of ‘non-walking’ offences, culminating in a penalty for the visitors. The resulting goal put The Orange Bar ahead.

In the second quarter, Los Marineros tightened their game, avoiding further penalties and showing improved discipline. Despite several promising attempts on goal, the visitors’ goalkeeper held firm, denying the home side an equalizer.

The third quarter saw the tables turn as The Orange Bar conceded a penalty for ‘non-walking,’ which Los Marineros converted to level the score.

The final quarter began with the teams tied, but a swift goal from the visitors restored their lead. The Orange Bar’s goalkeeper continued to frustrate Los Marineros with a series of outstanding saves. However, a late penalty for Los Marineros brought them back on level terms, and the match ended 2-2.

Despite the number of ‘non-walking’ offences, the referee refrained from taking any disciplinary action. The standout player of the match was undoubtedly The Orange Bar’s goalkeeper, whose heroics kept the visitors in the game.

This was the first encounter between the two sides, and plans are already in motion for a return friendly in Los Montesinos, tentatively scheduled for February.
