The Tipsy Toad once again hosted the Thursday League’s AGM and for consecutive terms “In the Sun Holidays” along with “Rewind Spain” will be sponsoring the hundreds of local darts enthusiasts, within the league. The sponsors Managing Director, Casey Shaddock readily agreed to a second term after last season’s resounding success, promoting her holiday and entertainment companies.
Misinformed Financial issues were addressed by the treasurer, who explained participating teams received numerous benefits culminating in the annual presentation in June. Rising costs necessitated an approximate 12.5% increase in fees. An addition to rules regarding “ties” for final placings, will ensure the 2026 1st division championship tie is unlikely to reoccur.
An amalgamation and / or demise of last season’s teams, plus the inclusion of El Clan Dartsabers from Torremendo means nineteen teams will contest prizes in the coming months title race.
Yet to be confirmed is the start date of this year’s contest, most likely to be October 1st. As per last term, the campaign for notoriety will begin with preliminary rounds of the KO Cup, ties and dates will be published mid-September. League matches to follow thereafter.
Any amendments to competition playing formats will be published at the time entry forms are required. Disappointingly a request for an additional committee member at the AGM once again fell on deaf ears. The requirements, “a few hours time per month and preferably a brain,” too much to endure.
