The registration period is open from Monday, 11 May, until 8 June, with the programme taking place at CEIP Maestro Salvador Ruso during July and August.
This year’s main new features include a free lunch service and an early-morning classroom from 8:00 a.m. to help parents balance work and family life.
Torrevieja Town Hall, through its Department of Social Welfare, has launched a new edition of “Concilia Verano 2026”, a municipal summer programme designed to help families during the school holidays.
The initiative offers children a safe, educational and recreational space while helping parents reconcile work and family responsibilities during the summer months.
The summer school will run in July and August 2026 at CEIP Maestro Salvador Ruso. It is aimed at children registered as residents in Torrevieja who were born between 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2022, covering ages 4 to 12.
Councillor for Social Welfare Óscar Urtasun said applications can be submitted from Monday, 11 May, until 8 June. Registration may be completed online through Torrevieja Town Hall’s electronic office or in person by collecting and submitting the relevant forms at the Social Welfare offices.
This year, the programme will offer 100 places in July and 100 places in August. In addition, 10 extra places per month will be reserved for children who require specific educational support.
One of the main additions this year is a free lunch service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for participating children who request it. The programme will also include an early-morning classroom from 8:00 a.m., aimed especially at parents who need to start work early.
The daily timetable will be:
- 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.: Early-morning classroom
- 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Recreational and educational activities
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Free lunch service
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Midday classroom
The municipal summer school will offer a wide range of age-appropriate educational, leisure and recreational activities. These will promote values such as coexistence, friendship, creativity, teamwork and healthy habits, under the supervision of specialised professionals.
The Town Hall says the programme is an important support tool for Torrevieja families during the summer, especially in households where both parents work and need reliable childcare during the school holidays.
Applications may be made for full months, either July or August, or by fortnights, giving families greater flexibility according to their needs.
