Members of DIVAS (Drama in the Valley) recently performed the very successful Pantomime The Golden Ball, held in the theatre of Hondon de los Frailes. This Pantomime was created and directed by Pamela Jubb and welcomed audiences over three performances.
It was full of colour, music and dancing – including a racy burlesque scene and also “belly dancers”. Many of the actors were involved in showcase songs and a number included audience participation. There were also great comedic scenes as well as slapstick involving the Director having a “custard pie” in the face!
It was decided by the members that they would donate part of the proceeds to Cruz Roja and Caritas.
Representatives from both charities were on hand to receive donations of 250€ each. They were both very appreciative and DIVAS were delighted to support them this year. Plans are in hand for more activities later in the year and hopefully another great Pantomime next year. We are always looking for new members to join our friendly group and further details can be found on our facebook page or by contacting us on hondondivas@gmail.com
