Top UK match fishing tackle company, Preston Innovations, is sponsoring a weekend feeder fishing festival on 23rd and 24th May at the El Bosquet fishing complex near Catral. The match is being organised by NTT Baits & Tackle of San Fulgencio. This is the first time Preston Innovations has sponsored a match on the Costa Blanca.
Apart from cash prizes and a trophy, it and NTT are providing numerous prizes of tackle, bait and clothing. The match is a sellout and amongst those fishing will be, albeit now retired, several anglers from some of the UK’s top national sides including at least one past International.
The match has a couple of unusual twists. Whilst pole fishing is predominant in matches at El Bosquet, this is limited to just feeder fishing which could throw up some surprise results. And, on day two, each angler will be given a peg in reverse order of how the pegs fished on day one. Hence, on Sunday the winner from Saturday will be given the peg that had the lowest weight on the Saturday, and so on.
Prize giving will take place after the weigh in on the Sunday. This will be accompanied by a buffet provided by Sue’s Kitchen of San Fulgencio.
