Networks Theatre in Orihuela city has built a reputation for presenting a varied and thought-provoking range of plays and musicals. Following on from the success of their moat recent production The Prince and The Pauper, they’re preparing to stage a revival of their powerful show, Remembrance: Letters and Poems from the Great War.
This moving and evocative production, created by the theatre’s resident director Nick Moore, brings to life the voices of those whose lives were forever changed by what is now known as the First World War. Through personal stories and reflections, Remembrance reveals the human cost of conflict: the excitement of enlistment, the harsh reality of life at the front, the pain of separation, and the longing for peace.
These accounts combined with touching and heartbreaking poems form a powerful reflection on sacrifice, memory, and the importance of remembering those who lived, fought, and died during WWI.
Presented in their own studio theatre and told entirely in English combined with images and footage from the period, this moving production continues Networks Theatre’s tradition of bringing live drama of quality to the Costa Blanca region.
Remembrance promises to be a memorable and emotional theatrical experience.
There are three public performances: Wednesday 27th May 7pm, Thursday 28th 9pm and Friday 29th of May 8pm. Tickets can be reserved on their website www.networkstheatre.com or call 683373413 for more information.
