The Department of Coexistence and Integration of the Torrevieja City Council, through the Office for the Support of Migrant Persons (PANGEA), has begun a series of meetings and talks to inform the public about the updates—and especially the changes—regarding the Arraigo reports (reports that help support a migrant’s application for residency) prepared by this municipal office.
The first session, held at the Multipurpose Center on Avenida de las Habaneras, was aimed at Spanish language students enrolled in Arraigo courses run by the Atis Association.
The event also included the introduction of María del Rocío Raffaeli Serrano, who has recently joined PANGEA as an intercultural mediator. In attendance were the Councilor for Coexistence and Integration, Óscar Urtasun; the Councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund; and PANGEA office technician Jean Paul Mulero.
The new Immigration Law, which came into effect on May 20, 2025, under Royal Decree 1155/2024 of November 19, establishes five types of Arraigo (residency through integration):
- Family Arraigo
- Social Arraigo
- Employment-based Arraigo
- Second-chance Arraigo
- Training-based Arraigo
