SAUNA SHOCKER IN MAGALUF – A 37-year-old Irish holidaymaker has been arrested after a shocking incident in the sauna of a swanky Magaluf hotel, where she allegedly sexually assaulted a 20-year-old Swedish tourist.
The steamy spa session took a dark turn when, according to police, the Irish woman began chatting with the young man in the sauna on Tuesday afternoon. What started as casual conversation reportedly escalated when the two moved through different areas of the hotel spa — ending in an encounter in the Turkish baths that left the young Swede shaken.
There, the woman allegedly groped the man’s genitals without consent. Startled, the victim told her he wasn’t interested, then promptly alerted local police.
Authorities moved quickly. Calvià Local Police took the initial report before handing the case over to the Civil Guard, who arrested the suspect for sexual assault. She was questioned and later appeared before a Palma court, where she denied the accusations.
Despite the serious allegations, the judge released the woman, represented by lawyer Joan Arbós, pending further investigation.
The scandal has rattled the tourist hotspot, where shocking incidents like this are rare — even in party-packed Magaluf. Legal proceedings are ongoing.
