The beloved Maria and the Pink Ladies Walk for Life made a triumphant return on Sunday, 1st June 2025, uniting over 250 walkers across Orihuela Costa in a vibrant show of support for the fight against cancer.
Beginning at The Emerald Isle, participants of all ages transformed the route into a moving wave of pink, braving the early summer heat with enthusiasm and determination. It was a day filled with joy, energy, and solidarity—reminding everyone of the power of community in the face of adversity.
The walk kicked off with an emotional send-off from the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, who later greeted participants at the finish line. All walkers contributed €5 to take part, with every cent going to the AACC (Asociación Alicante Contra el Cáncer). Many also gathered extra donations through sponsorships. Event founder Maria Wilson BEM announced that the final fundraising total will be shared publicly once all donations are counted.
The Pink Ladies team worked tirelessly throughout the day, handling registrations, coordinating a popular raffle and tombola, and keeping everything running smoothly.
Special thanks were given to supporters Spain Property Shop, for providing free sun caps to all participants, Simon Morton of Sunshine FM, for his upbeat hosting and continued backing, The Emerald Isle, for supplying bottled water to keep walkers cool and Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, for their music and generous donation
Once again, the Walk for Life proved to be more than just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of compassion, courage, and community. A huge well done to all who participated and supported this unforgettable day.
