The Local Police of Benejúzar played a key role in “Operation Entrada25,” led by the Civil Guard, which successfully dismantled a criminal organization responsible for a series of thefts in agricultural zones across the Vega Baja region. The operation resulted in one arrest and two individuals under investigation. Stolen goods valued at over €40,000 have been partially recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
The investigation began in late 2024 after several farmers reported break-ins on their properties. The Civil Guard’s ROCA Team (Special Unit for Rural Thefts) based in Torrevieja launched the case. The suspects typically targeted farms during off-hours, forcing entry through doors or locks and stealing high-value agricultural products, including fertilizers and phytosanitary chemicals.
Operation Entrada25 involved close coordination between multiple law enforcement units, including the ROCA Team from Torrevieja, SEPRONA environmental units from Guardamar and Callosa de Segura, and various Local Police departments in the region — among them, the Benejúzar police force. Joint evidence analysis and inter-agency cooperation were vital to the success of the operation.
Benejúzar’s mayor, Vicente Cases, publicly commended the efforts of the local police, stating, “Our police force has once again shown its professionalism and dedication to public safety, not just in our town but across the region. This coordinated effort has halted a criminal operation that was severely impacting our farmers.”
He emphasized that agricultural crime affects not only the economy but the peace of the rural community. “Farming is a cornerstone of the Vega Baja. Protecting it means protecting our identity, our livelihood, and our land,” he said.
The Town Council reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and institutional collaboration, pledging continued support for efforts that safeguard residents’ interests.
