Two organisations dedicated to the sale of drugs that operated in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, and Valencia have been dismantled by the Guardia Civil. Searches were carried out in properties in Torrevieja, Bigastro, Callosa de Segura, Orihuela, San Miguel de Salinas, and Beniel, resulting in 35 people having been arrested. The operation, called “Primoto”, began at the end of 2022, when officers from the Torrevieja Guardia Civil witnessed a retail sale on the streets of the town. As the investigations progressed, a complex network was discovered dedicated to the sale of different types of drugs from homes, on public roads and even through the “telecoca” modality. To improve sales, they used groups or channels on instant messaging applications. In addition, to attract more customers, they used marketing strategies such as the “Happy Hour” offer, during which they offered the drug at a lower price or gave away additional doses for larger purchases. They guaranteed a service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They changed addresses quarterly to avoid police action and possible drug dumps. The gang, led by its boss from a luxurious urbanisation in Moncada (Valencia), expanded its operations to Bigastro and Callosa de Segura. The leader, known for his ostentatious lifestyle, did not hesitate to boast of his high standard of economic living, even acquiring a luxury vehicle valued at approximately 250,000 euro. Torrevieja was not long ago highlighted by the United Nations as having a particularly problematic drugs issue. This Is Torrevieja - Torrevieja news and events
