The Alicante provincial fire service has announced that a person died in a house fire in Santa Pola earlier this week.
The fire service was called to a home in the town after neighbours reported seeing flames coming from the building.
Resources were sent to the scene and fire fighters entered the premises, managing to pull a person out of the building, but medics who were on the scene could do nothing to help save their life.
