La Manga Torrevieja CC were left stumped when their opposition Torre Pacheco CC didn’t turn up for a 40 overs league fixture at La Manga Club.
“Disappointingly our opposition did not show for the 40 overs league game on May 14.
“The consolation is we got awarded the game – but it’s very sad for all of our players who turned up to play. An impromptu net session got underway in their absence.
“We turned up for our league fixture to find that our opponents could not raise a team and had therefore forfeited the game.
“Although it is 20 points to LMTCC, it’s not in the manner that we would have wished.
“An intra club game made sure that our journey wasn’t wasted, and we return to La Manga, May 20th, to face Madrid CC in a 40 overs game,” said a LMTCC statement.
