The eighth edition of “Elx Street Food Market” will be held on the 19, 20 and 21 May at the Paseo de la Estación in Elche.

This year, there will be 14 food trucks, which will offer national and international food from the United States, Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand and Mexico, among many other countries represented by these kitchens with wheels, with dishes at prices from between 2 and 10 euro.

The event is free to enter and will also have a market with 18 craft and jewellery stalls, and will have a space for art focused on illustration, as well as a children’s stage where there will be magic and animation shows.

There will also be concerts: on Friday, May 19, El Diluvi, The Liverpool Band and El Jose will perform on Saturday the 20th; and Billy Boom Band, Xeco Rojo and Javier Ojeda from Danza Invisible on Sunday 21. All these concerts will be enlivened before and after by the performance of DJ Adriasola.

Felip Sànchez, Councillor for Commerce, affirms that “Elx Street Food Market has become an important event for the city that has a great attendance response, exceeding 20,000 attendees last year after becoming the first event held after the end of the restrictions of the pandemic.

For his part, Amadou Sow, organiser of the event, indicates that “the fair is divided into three areas connected to each other by the different scenarios: the first is the market, which will have 18 market stalls; the second that of the food trucks; that bets on quality food and not on fast food; and the last one, that of the concerts, where El Diluvi or Javier Ojeda from Danza Invisible stand out”.

At “Elx Street Food Market”, in addition to food trucks and concerts, there will be storytelling, comedy shows and face painting for children; in addition to activities for adults such as live illustration and design demonstrations or book signings with the authors of the Letra Violeta literary collective.

The opening hours of “Elx Street Food Market” will be Friday 19 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May at 12:00 p.m.
