The mobile unit belonging to the Junta de Andalucía’s Breast Cancer Early Detection Programme is in Mojácar to carry out a diagnostic test on all the women of the municipality aged between 50 and 69.

The unit is situated in Plaza Rey Alabez, next to the Bartolomé Flores Public School, remaining in the locality until 9th March.

More than 1,500 women, residents of Mojácar, have been by letter asked to come along to have this highly important test, since prevention is vital for recovery.

The mobile unit’s equipment consists of two radiology devices, controlled by two technicians, who are responsible for dealing with and carrying out the tests and the initial diagnosis.

In the majority of cases the result is normal, but if an abnormality is detected, it means an advance in time which can be critical.

The women who have been asked to come along will have to bring with them their health card or their Social Security card and ID card, being able to attend even if they do not have Social Security.

The Junta de Andalucía’s Breast Cancer Early Detection Programme consists of carrying out mammograms every two years on the entire female population, the most affected by this disease.
