One of our recent outings was to support the Poppy Appeal, see photo, Mick the Grip sponsored the day and provided the prizes and the sum of 150 euros was generously donated to the appeal by our players.
We played at Bonalba, the weather was kind and some exceptional scores were recorded, winners on the day were, nearest the pin on the par 3’s Jim McCarthy, Robert Scott and Steve (El Stevo) Craven who also took the two’s pot. Best front nine Nigel Wright and best back Theresa Wright. The overall winner on the day with an impressive 41 points was Jeff Evans.
Our next outing was at Font Del Llop this was the Captain verses Vice Captains team challenge, this yearly fixture is very competitive and there was much banter between the teams, however the Vice Captain took the honors this year with other winners as follows: nearest the pin on the par 3’s were Michelle Evans, Colin Fear, Bill Martin 2 and Chris Smith who also won the two’s pot. Nearest the pin in 2 was Jim McCarthy Nearest in 3 was Marc Doherty. Back at Rayz Bar on El Raso where the presentation took place the football card was won by Steve James.
Our last fixture of the playing year is at Las Collinas and there are three players which could take the player of the year trophy, this game is on the 2nd of December the day before our AGM and the much awaited Christmas dinner when the player of the year presentation will take place.
