To the south is Cabo Roig, Campoamor, and Mil Palmeras on the Costa Blanca (White Coast), and Torre de la Horadada, Pilar de la Horadada, San Pedro del Pinatar, Mar Menor, San Javier, Los Alcazares, and La Manga on the Costa Calida (Warm Coast).
To the north is Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Los Altos and Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca.
In 2018 around 600 people were legally registered as living in La Zenia, Montezenia, and Torrezenia, although the actual number is considerably higher due to the recent construction and sale of new properties and the simple fact that many of the foreign inhabitants are not registered as permanent residents.
There are plenty of things to do in the area for both permanent residents and tourists of this popular Costa Blanca location. The main two attractions are the beautiful award-winning Blue Flag sandy beaches of “Play de La Zenia”, and the fabulous La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Center, the largest commercial shopping center of it’s kind in the province of Alicante.
Cala Bosque and Cala Cerrada are the most widely known and popular beaches. They are very popular during the summer (and on Christmas Day) and can become very crowded. The Boulevard has more than 150 shops. Many of these are main high street brands such as Primark, Al Campo, Media Markt, Zara, Levis, Guess, and more. There are also plenty of places to eat and entertain the children.
In addition, the area boasts a number of popular bars and restaurants.
