The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has dismantled a juvenile criminal group in Águilas suspected of carrying out a string of residential burglaries. The operation, codenamed “Brazalete”, falls under the national “Plan Against Home Robberies” and has led to the identification and investigation of seven individuals—five of them minors—accused of committing burglaries with forced entry.
Homes Used for Parties and Stashing Stolen Goods
Authorities revealed that the group not only stole from the targeted homes but also used some of them—particularly vacation properties—for hosting parties and hiding stolen items. Tools of the trade, including balaclavas, crowbars, and imitation firearms, were seized during the investigation.
The Civil Guard launched the probe several months ago following a noticeable uptick in residential burglaries in Águilas. Initial forensic work at one of the crime scenes pointed to a coordinated group of young offenders, prompting a broader investigation.
Local Police Collaboration and Ongoing Inquiries
The operation was carried out with the support of the Águilas Local Police. So far, authorities have connected the group to three confirmed break-ins, though they suspect more crimes may come to light as the investigation continues.
Once all seven suspects were identified, law enforcement launched a coordinated effort to locate them. All have now been formally investigated as alleged perpetrators of burglary with force.
The Civil Guard continues to analyze the confiscated materials and is exploring potential links to additional criminal activities.
Authorities have emphasized that the case remains open and further charges may follow.
