Aquópolis Torrevieja will host the first edition of the Aquópolis Torrevieja Aquathlon on June 6, a sporting event aimed especially at children and young people aged between 6 and 17.
The competition will combine sport, fun and outdoor activity in a unique setting, with the entire event taking place inside the water park.
The Councillor for Sports at Torrevieja Town Hall, Diana Box, presented the event alongside the general manager of Aquópolis, Juan Jesús Herrero, and race organiser Alfonso Gallego. The competition is being described as a pioneering event in the Vega Baja area and is expected to welcome hundreds of young participants.
The aquathlon will follow a dynamic run–swim–run format, with distances adapted to each age group. The routes have been designed to offer participants a safe, enjoyable and accessible introduction to this type of competition.
The event package includes a race bib and transfer tattoo, a gift for participants, refreshments, prizes and, as a special incentive, free admission to Aquópolis Torrevieja for one day during the 2026 season.
This means that all participants will also be able to return during the summer to enjoy the park’s water attractions, wave pool, family activities and leisure areas.
The Aquópolis Torrevieja Aquathlon is being organised in collaboration with the Sports Department of Torrevieja Town Hall and the sports events company Du Cross Events. Its main aim is to encourage children and young people to take part in sport from an early age, promote healthy lifestyle habits and introduce disciplines such as aquathlon in a fun and family-friendly environment.
