Torrevieja, Spain (October 15, 2025) — The 38th edition of the Ciudad de Torrevieja International Half Marathon and 10K is set to take place this Sunday, October 19, marking a record-breaking year with more than 2,000 registered participants.

Organized by Club Atletismo Torrevieja in collaboration with the City Council’s Sports Department, the event continues to establish itself as one of the most important races in the Valencian Community’s athletics calendar.

Of the total runners, 40% are international competitors, while the rest come from across Spain. Notably, 80 participants are over the age of 65, reflecting the event’s inclusive appeal.

The race will feature two distances — the 21K Half Marathon and the 10K Run — both starting at 9:30 a.m. from Avenida Gregorio Marañón and finishing at Calle Los Portalicos in the city center. Both events are included in the official calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation.

This year’s edition includes several updates, including a new route due to construction on Paseo de la Libertad and a change of date from February to October to avoid scheduling conflicts with other regional races.

The flat, seaside course is designed for both elite athletes chasing personal bests and recreational runners seeking a memorable experience. Participants can collect their race bibs on Saturday, October 18, at the Museo de la Habanera, or on race morning.

More than 200 volunteers, along with police, medical teams, and event staff, will ensure smooth organization and safety. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both men’s and women’s categories, as well as to any athlete who breaks the course record.

Beyond competition, the event also promotes tourism, local business, and healthy living, highlighting Torrevieja’s growing reputation as a vibrant, sports-loving city.
