Murcia, Spain – Four people have been arrested in connection with an international marijuana and hashish trafficking network operating from San Pedro del Pinatar and Orihuela. The criminal group is alleged to have sent narcotics to countries including Belgium and Canada using courier services.

The investigation, launched by police in July, revealed that the group routinely transported drugs via parcel delivery companies, employing vacuum-sealed packaging and other methods to avoid detection. Members were observed visiting multiple courier offices to send shipments to cities abroad, taking precautions to monitor for law enforcement activity.

The operation culminated in September, when several units of the National Police, in coordination with San Pedro del Pinatar Local Police, carried out searches at two residences in San Pedro del Pinatar and Orihuela. Authorities seized a total of 106 kilograms of drugs, including 81 kilos of marijuana buds and nearly 25 kilos of hashish, all carefully packaged to evade detection.

Four men were arrested and charged with drug trafficking and membership in a criminal organization. They have been presented before judicial authorities, though police have indicated that further arrests may be possible as the investigation continues.

The operation highlights ongoing efforts by Spanish authorities to combat international drug trafficking, particularly networks exploiting courier services to distribute narcotics abroad.
