TORREVIEJA (May 5, 2025)
Rosario Martínez, Councillor for Festivities at Torrevieja City Council, alongside Rosa María Martínez, President of the Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti”; Óscar Torregrosa (Soul Dance Studio); and María Martínez (Mery Dance Academy), representatives of local dance schools, officially presented the May Fair 2025, which will take place from May 15 to 18 in Antonio Soria Park.
This vibrant celebration of Andalusian folklore, music, and gastronomy has become one of the most anticipated events in Torrevieja’s annual calendar. Over four festive days, residents and visitors will enjoy a rich program featuring live music, family-friendly activities, equestrian shows, and traditional fairground atmosphere in the decorated casetas (booths) throughout the venue.
Highlights of the 2025 May Fair:
- 15 casetas, a large central stage, and seating for 600 spectators
- Children’s shows, dance academy performances, a rociero parade, and the traditional Sunday rociera mass
- Special performance by renowned Spanish group Siempre Así on Saturday, May 17
PROGRAM SCHEDULE
THURSDAY, MAY 15
- 9:00 PM – Official Opening Ceremony of May Fair 2025
Featuring the Torrevieja Anthem performed by the UMT Music Band
Followed by a fireworks display - 9:30 PM – Performance by QK Dance Academy
- 10:30 PM – Performance by Hermandad Virgen del Rocío Choir
FRIDAY, MAY 16
- 9:00 PM – Performance by Arantxa Dance Academy
- 10:00 PM – Performance by Municipal Dance School of Torrevieja
- 11:00 PM – Performance by Aire de Lo Ferro
SATURDAY, MAY 17
- 12:00 PM – Traditional Rociera Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, sung by the Hermandad Virgen del Rocío Choir
- Followed by a parade of horse riders and carriages to the fairground at Antonio Soria Park
- Parade route: From the church via Calle Bazán and Delfina Viudes to the park
- Upon arrival: Traditional horse parade begins
- 9:00 PM – Performance by Soul Dance Studio
- 10:00 PM – Performance by Paya’s Dance School
- 11:00 PM – Headline performance by “Siempre Así”
SUNDAY, MAY 18
- 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Horse and carriage rides around the fairground
- 8:30 PM – Performance by Mery Dance Academy
- 9:30 PM – Performance by Brisa del Sur Choir
- 10:00 PM – Final Salve and Closing Ceremony
