The Valencia regional health department has published the required files for the drafting of the work project for the reform and expansion of the Integrated Health Centre in Guardamar del Segura to be put to tender, with a budget of 261,955.46 euro.

The planned work consists of adapting the general access of the centre and expanding the emergency area, as well as the reform and creation of more consultation areas.

The centre has 24,476 people currently assigned to it, and it is expected that another 6,000 will join them for the construction of new housing complexes whose works are already underway. In addition, a floating population of 5,000 inhabitants is served.

The works will involve the creation of 2 new family medicine consultations (there are now 7); 2 more nursing consultations that will be added to the 2 that already exist; 1 more from Paediatrics (there is already one working); and 1 additional nursing consultation room to reinforce the one that exists now.

In addition, it is planned to create a rehabilitation area with a rehabilitator/physiotherapist consultation, two treatment boxes, a gym and changing rooms; a Social Work area and a Mental Health area with a Psychiatry/Psychology and Nursing consultation.

The current Continuous Care Point will also improve with the opening of two more medical consultations; two new nursing consultations and an observation room that will reinforce the current one.

In total, the investment to be made in the centre amounts to 6,197,769.24 euro.
