According to the latest report from the Guardia Civil, in the Valencia region, 253 drivers were sent to court in April for crimes against road safety. It should be noted that normal traffic offences are dealt with administratively, and only the most serious constitute a crime, as in these cases.

Of the total, 93 of the drivers went before the judge for driving without a permit or licence; 142 for doing it under the influence of alcoholic beverages; nine for reckless driving; 2 for speeding; two for abandoning the scene of the incident and 5 for driving with drugs in the body.

By province, in Valencia, action was taken against 47 drivers for lacking a permit or licence; 75 for driving under the influence of alcohol; 7 for reckless driving; 2 for speeding; 5 for driving with drugs in the body and 2 for abandoning the scene of the incident.

In the province of Castellón action was taken against 17 drivers for lacking a permit or licence and 20 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol.

In the province of Alicante, 29 drivers were taken to court for lacking a permit or licence, 47 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 2 for reckless driving.
