The Alcampo chain of supermarkets and hypermarkets has boosted the local economy by purchasing goods valued at 200 million euro in 2021 from 450 suppliers of Valencian products, as reported by the company.

In addition to the supply of products that are distributed in all the Alcampo centres, the stores located in the Valencian Community have made purchases worth more than 10 million euro from small local suppliers of products adapted to the tastes of Valencian consumers.

Alcampo gives as an example the purchase of fish in the fish markets of the Valencian coast, such as the one in Santa Pola, and works together with ranchers, packers, small industrialists and farmers, developing joint projects such as the marketing of Mollar de Elche pomegranate or artichoke from the Vega Baja.

Alcampo began its journey in the Valencian Community in 1985, the year in which it opened its Alboraya hypermarket in Valencia, currently having 6 centres in this Community, including the Zenia Boulevard. They have one store in the province of Castellón, two in Valencia and three in Alicante. In total, these six centres currently employ more than 1,100 people.
