The Department of Health in Crevillente has provided training in first aid to all municipal personnel in the Sports area, including monitors and custodians of all sports facilities in the municipality.

The town hall explains that the contents of this training course have covered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the Heimlich manoeuvre and knowledge on how to use the defibrillator (DESA) in children and adults.

In addition, throughout the training, which has been developed during the first weeks of February 2022, drills have been carried out to recreate real situations that may occur within the sports field and in which the workers would have to act.

Gema Candelaria Asencio, councillor for health, announced that this training will be given in the coming months to staff in all areas and municipal buildings, including schools and institutes.

For his part, the councillor for sports, Marcelino Giménez, has highlighted that this knowledge will also be transferred to the local sports field in the coming months, with courses aimed at technicians, coaches and athletes from Crevillente sports entities.

Both councillors wanted to express the importance of providing this type of theoretical-practical training courses so that staff can act quickly and effectively in any emergency, since proper action can save a life.
