Pilar de la Horadada Town Hall has launched a new community wellbeing initiative aimed at promoting emotional health, healthy lifestyles and social connection among residents.

The programme, titled “El Pilar Se Cuida” (“Pilar Takes Care”), has been introduced by the Department of Health as part of the wider implementation of the Valencian Community Health Plan and the region’s community health strategy.

The initiative combines emotional wellbeing workshops with guided healthy walking routes, encouraging residents to adopt a more balanced approach to health that focuses on both physical and mental wellbeing.

According to the council, the project was developed in response to findings from the municipality’s 2025 Health Diagnosis Report, which identified emotional wellbeing as a growing priority for improving overall quality of life within the community.

The programme will include a series of free psychoeducational workshops tailored to different population groups. Topics will include emotional management, self-care, stress reduction and improving social relationships and coexistence.

Each workshop will be paired with a guided healthy walk, reinforcing the message that maintaining good health involves physical activity, emotional balance and social interaction.

Town Hall officials say the overall objective is to raise public awareness about the importance of taking care of health from a holistic perspective while encouraging healthier habits, stronger community networks and greater citizen participation.

All activities will be free of charge and open to the public. Details regarding workshop dates, locations and registration procedures will be announced through the council’s official communication channels in the coming weeks.

Councillor for Health Nieves Moreno encouraged residents to take part in the programme, describing self-care, movement and community interaction as key elements in improving wellbeing and quality of life.

The council hopes the initiative will help strengthen social ties while giving residents practical tools to better manage stress, emotional wellbeing and healthy daily routines.
