The Orihuela City Council’s Department of Social Welfare has awarded the winners of the First Inclusive Story Contest, an initiative aimed at promoting respect, diversity, and inclusion among children through storytelling.
Open to primary school students across the municipality, the contest encouraged the use of drawings and pictograms alongside written text—helping make stories more accessible, especially for children with communication difficulties. During the award ceremony, winning entries were showcased, highlighting how creative storytelling can foster empathy and inclusion in the classroom.
Social Welfare Councillor Agustina Rodríguez congratulated participants and schools for their involvement and thanked sponsors Caja Rural Central and Hidraqua for their support. She also reaffirmed the council’s commitment to continuing projects that promote equality and social awareness among youth.
