Orihuela, 4th April 2025 – Féminas Ciudad de Orihuela Football Club has introduced a new nutritional plan for the current season aimed at raising awareness among players about the importance of proper nutrition for athletic performance.
Named ‘Timing Alimentario: Tools to Improve Performance’, the initiative focuses on providing players with solid nutritional foundations before, during, and after competition and training, helping them recover and optimize their performance on the field.
Based on surveys conducted with the players, the club has identified the specific nutritional needs of its young athletes and developed a tailored plan.
Club president Rubén Pastor emphasized that the project’s objectives are crucial for the players’ development, aiming to enhance recovery post-training, encourage long-term healthy habits, and prevent injuries.
The plan will be customized to players’ tastes and needs, ensuring it supports their overall growth throughout the season.
Nutritionist Roberto Espinosa, who designed the plan, explained that it will be implemented in collaboration with the coaching staff, players, and their families. The strategy will focus on five key areas: identifying needs, considering the environment, evaluating player capabilities, respecting preferences, and utilizing opportunities for meal planning during training and competitions.
In addition, the club will organize talks and workshops for players, coaches, and families to explain the plan’s goals and its importance. Progress will be monitored using simple, memorable indicators for the players.
Espinosa noted that the goal is to make the process flexible and enjoyable, encouraging players to adopt healthy eating habits that fuel their sports performance and promote overall well-being.
This initiative is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health and personal development of its players, contributing to the creation of more well-rounded young athletes.
