MABS and the AECC were the guests at the latest meeting of the Orihuela Costa Branch of the RBL which was held last week in Mil Palmeras.
Hazel Merridew and Pamela Blanden spoke on behalf of the two organisations in which the pair explained how they work together to provide both preventative examinations and post diagnosis care and support to the general public.
Hazel, based in San Javier, explained that the MABS Cancer Support Fundación, which covers the whole of the Costa Blanca, provides practical support and help for patients, information on cancers and treatments, translators and even drivers and transport to take people for hospital appointments and treatment.
Pamela, meanwhile, who volunteers at the Campoverde office of the AECC, located in Campoverde Town Hall, explained the testing facilities and examinations that are available for both men and for women through her organisation, at a minimal cost, examinations that could save your life.
Further information on both organisations is available from 615 016 035 (MABS) or 690 195 117 (AECC Campoverde).
