CFP ORIHUELA 1-2 CD MONTESINOS

By Andrew Atkinson

Carlos Perez maintained his impressive record of remaining undefeated as coach of Alicante based CD Montesinos following a 2-1 away win at CFP Orihuela in the Segunda Regional Grupo 16 – a victory that moves them into third place in the table.

Played in torrential rain, in front of a crowd of 200, Montesinos’ Brazilian striker Vazquinho gave the visitors the lead on 40 minutes – following a spectacular overhead kick.

Carlos Lorente netted Montesinos’s second goal, with CFP Orihuela netting a consolation goal late on at the Polideportivo El Palmeral Stadium.

CD Benijofar gained a 2-0 away win against Deportivo Orihuela to remain in second place behind leaders CD Murada. Callosa Deportivo B and RP Orihuela shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw, with Sporting Orihuela defeating FB Redovan B 3-0 in a bottom end of the table clash.

CD Montesinos, who host Deportivo Orihuela at the Municipal Stadium, Los Montesinos, on December 11, are hoping to keep up their impressive form of seven games undefeated under Carlos, who replaced axed Camacho after just two games into the 2016-17 season.
